Marcos Sabelli

CEO

Marcos became Chief Executive Officer of Profertil in October 2022. Until September 2022, he served as Strategy and Business Development Vice President of YPF, where he designed the company’s growth strategy. Previously, he was responsible for leading YPF’s transformation process launched in late 2017. Its aim was to turn the company into a more agile, flexible and technological organization, focusing on making all its operations increasingly competitive. From 2012 to 2017, he managed YPF’s Petrochemical Business and presided over Profertil’s Board of Directors. He also served as the President of the Latin American Petrochemical and Chemical Association (APLA), where he is still a member of the Advisory Council. Marcos has been working in the oil industry for more than 25 years. He joined YPF in 1994 at the La Plata Refinery Complex. He took on several positions in Argentina, the U.S. and Europe. In 2004 he returned to Argentina, where he held various strategic positions in YPF, such as International Trade Manager (2008 - 2010) and then Industrial Sales Director (2010 - 2012). He holds a degree in Petroleum Engineering and a Master´s degree in Economics of Oil and Gas both from the “Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires” (ITBA). He also earned a Diploma in Marine Transportation and Crude Oil Trading from the University of Cambridge and a Diploma in Management Development from the IAE Business School. Currently, he is a professor in the Economics of Oil & Gas program at ITBA.
