Managing Director and Partner

Peter is a Managing Director & Partner in the Copenhagen office of the Boston Consulting Group. As the Global topic lead for Sustainability & Climate in BCG's Infrastructure, Cities & Transport Sector, he works primarily with industrial goods & shipping clients with a focus on the green transition. Peter also has a background form a senior position in a leading Danish Med Tech company (responsible for innovation) and a career in the British Royal Navy.

Peter has vast experience supporting clients on variety of topics including end to end decarbonization strategy for global container owner/operator, future fuel sourcing strategy (methanol) for global owner/operator, design & launch of the First Movers Coalition (WEF, Whitehouse initiative), maritime GreenTech investment portfolio strategy & numerous other strategy studies for shipping players

Prior to BCG, Peter was Vice President, Global Research & Development, DK, leading and developing a department of 25+ Senior Project Managers and a PMO to deliver on an ambitious Innovation Excellence transformation. He was also Royal Navy – Submarine Warfare Officer (Nuclear) for 6 years. Peter holds M.Eng. Mechanical Engineering from Warwick University (UK)

    Session 2: Decarbonization of transportation & shipping: an ambitious global test looms for fuels of the future
    As pressure mounts to deliver measurable progress toward carbon neutrality, airlines as well the International Maritime Organization (IMO) is pledging to reach net zero by or around 2050. Although many types of alternative fuels are being explored such as hydrogen, ammonia, methanol, biofuels, fuel cells and more, there is no one clear frontrunner in the race. The panel will explore the state of the current alternative fuel landscape and the path forward.
