Kamal Nanavaty

 Shri. Kamal P Nanavaty is the President – Strategy Development of M/s. Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), prior to which, he was the Sector Head for Cracker, Polymer and Chemicals since the inception. He is a Chemical Engineer from University of Utah, USA and initially, he worked with USI Chemical Company. On his return to India, Mr. Nanavaty joined Indian Petrochemicals Corporation Limited (IPCL). In 1989, Mr. Nanavaty moved to RIL to set up its Polymers and Chemicals business. He was a member on the Board of IPCL from June 2002 and remained a Director till its amalgamation with RIL in September 2007. Along with Petchem business, he was also nominated as Mentor for other businesses with Reliance for R-Com CDMA in 2003-2006, Reliance Retail in Delhi in 2007-08. He is also the Mentor for Reliance Jio in Maharashtra, Mumbai and Goa for its network rollout. He is the President of the Chemical & Petrochemicals Manufacturers’ Association (CPMA- www.cpmaindia.com) and has been leading the India Chapter for Asia Petrochemical Industry Conference (APIC). He is member of ACC (American Chemistry Council), SPE (Indian Section), IPI (Indian Chapter). He is the Special Advisor – Empowerment Committee and Head – Resource Development Committee of Plastindia International University (PIU), which is in collaboration with University of Massachusetts, Boston, USA. He was elected Honorary Fellow of India Institute of Chemical Engineers in 2001. He was nominated as the Member of the 1st Advisory Council of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) – Gandhinagar. Mr Nanavaty is representing Reliance Industries Ltd on the Board of Alliance to End Plastic Waste (AEPW- www.endplasticwaste.org) - a global initiative for major plastic waste to value.
