Nikhil is a Partner in McKinsey & Company’s Houston office and leader of firm’s Decarbonization Service line in North America.

In his role as convener of Decarbonization Service line for Energy, Chemicals, and Materials industries, Nikhil is responsible for growing McKinsey’s Decarbonization work which is focused on helping clients establish large scale Decarbonization Hubs, drive company and asset level decarbonization transformations, launch zero-carbon products, and, execute sustainable capital projects.

Nikhil’s recent client work includes, helping leading Energy and Chemical companies, define corporate strategy, develop growth plans for new energy businesses including circular plastics, CCUS, and Hydrogen, execute large scale performance transformations, and participate in ecosystem decarbonization activities. Nikhil has also worked with leading credit and equity investors, to help them invest in energy transition and decarbonization activities.

He leads McKinsey’s support for Greater Houston Partnership’s Houston Energy Transition Initiative (HETI) – an effort sponsored by leading Energy and Chemical companies and non-profit stakeholders to drive Energy Transition and Sustainability related economic development activities in Greater Houston region, and for Center for Houston’s Future’s (CHF) Hydrogen Hub work in Texas Gulf coast region – an effort sponsored by 60+ Hydrogen companies establishing the largest Hydrogen Hub in the country.

Prior to joining McKinsey, Nikhil worked as a Rig Manager with Transocean across several geographies. Nikhil is a native of India, and did his Bachelor’s from Indian Institute of Technology at Bombay, and Masters from INSEAD, France.
