Ujjal Mukherjee is currently the Managing Director of Chevron Lummus Global and Vice President, Technology within the Lummus Technology business. Ujjal manages CLG’s P&L, strategic accounts and key technological developments. He has a leadership role in the development of TC2C™ Crude to Chemicals joint development program with Aramco.
Ujjal has more than 38 years of industry experience. Prior to assuming the role of Managing Director, Ujjal served as Vice President Technology for CLG and under his direction, CLG became a world leader in heavy oil upgrading. He has conceived of and designed most of the world’s largest hydrocrackers and is the inventor of LC-MAX® and several commercialized processes. Ujjal has been with Lummus since 1990, first working in Petrochemicals and then as one of the founding members of CLG. Prior to Lummus, he worked for Engineers India Limited leading projects in petrochemicals and refining. Ujjal has worked on projects in over 50 countries.
Ujjal holds a Master’s degree in Chemical and Petroleum Engineering from ENSPM, France, B.S. in Chemical Engineering from National Institute of Technology, India and an MBA from Rutgers University, USA. He holds 35 issued patents in distillate and residue hydrocracking, biofuels, shale oil and petrochemicals.
