Vice President, Midstream Oil & NGL Research and Consulting
Darryl leads a team focusing on global natural gas liquids (NGL) research and analyses and consulting opportunities in the midstream industry with a high concentration in North America. North American tight oil and shale gas development is resulting in booming investment in infrastructure to supply domestic and international markets, along with a high level of M&A and finance-related work. Darryl serves as a focal point for consulting projects, integrating the unmatched HIS Markit technical/market expertise and resources from our upstream, natural gas, NGL, downstream, and chemicals teams to provide client-focused solutions.
Darryl joined IHS Markit’s North American natural gas team and IHS Markit Energy’s Power, Gas, Coal, and Renewables (PGCR) group in early 2012 following the acquisition of Purvin & Gertz. Darryl joined Purvin & Gertz in 2008 after 17 years of experience with The Dow Chemical Company (Dow), with the last 10 years managing power, steam, natural gas and LNG assets and supply requirements supporting Dow’s chemical and petrochemical operations in Midland, Michigan and Freeport, Texas. Darryl’s business and commercial management responsibilities for Dow’s Midland and Freeport integrated operations included natural gas purchases and sales; pipeline and storage asset management and optimization; LNG regasification terminal business planning, operations, and LNG procurement; power and steam cogeneration commercial and operations management; petroleum coke business development; and hydrogen and other industrial gases sales and purchases. Darryl’s prior Dow experience included operations and project development/execution in Dow’s olefins manufacturing facilities located in Plaquemine, Louisiana.
