Erupting Geopolitics and the Search for New Paradigms

Wednesday, 23 March

9:30 am - 9:50 am (CST) / 23/mar/2022 02:30 pm - 23/mar/2022 02:50 pm

2022 presents a year where the climate agenda and energy transition will be further drawn into great power politics. As well as a centrifugal world that pulls countries apart politically while heightening security and economic tensions. While the world balances US-China rivalry, Russia’s conflict with Ukraine, and a disarrayed Middle East- how will countries deliver on their pledges to net-zero by 2030? Will energy transition create a redistribution of winners and losers, effectively a new north-south divide? How will these dynamics re-shape the international system? Can international leaders and institutions guarantee a “just transition”?
