Fertilizers and Agribusiness Seminar
Tuesday, 24 March, 2020
2:00 pm – 5:30 pm
Societal change is prompting new directions in the fertilizer sector. Various consequences for Nitrogen could arise from a shift towards green fertilizers driven by social trends in sustainability.
Meanwhile in the Sulphur arena, demand for higher- grade fuel driven by new IMO shipping legislation will have consequences for refineries and could impact supply and demand for products– including ammonium sulphate and sulphur-enhanced fertilizers.
Green ammonia is an attractive proposition for the environment but is this a practical solution? The viability of such investment is still questionable. Under IMO 2020 freight rates could increase significantly, which could have a potential impact on the ammonia market. Freight is already expensive for shippers and a major contribution to the cost of moving merchant ammonia, thus there may be impact on trade flows.
The Fertilizer and Agribusiness Summit half-day special program will address the changes ahead for ammonia and sulphur, and address some of the environmental issues affecting the industry going forward.
Who should attend?
- Ammonia and downstream nitrogen producers plus industrial consumers of ammonia
- Sulphur refineries
- Phosphate producers reliant on both ammonia and sulphur as a raw material
